The Federal Trade Commission sent checks totaling $16,428 to consumers victimized by American Credit Crunchers LLC, which threatened to put people in jail if they didn’t make payments on a purported loan.
According to the FTC, the company, and its owner Varang Thaker, claimed that it represented a local police department
