While competition enforcers should urge local regulators not to impose burdensome regulations on disruptive technologies, such as ride-sharing services like Uber and Lyft, there remain some “hard questions” about potential regulations for which competition advocates don’t have easy answers, a senior Federal Trade Commission official said.
